SKIS FOR WINTER 2009/10

I've been a bit rubbish at keeping this blog up to date. Busy turning my sims into permanent winter, with great ski runs. I've updated all my skis for Winter 2009/10. Here's some pictures:

The skis come in men and women's versions, with about 10 different styles for each.

Classy hoodies for men and women

The lovely Tony who owns Meeting Support commissioned me to make some hoodies for his Alpine Executive Centre. I've made some retail versions too.

Skis for the winter, with Anim over-rider

I made these skis about 6 weeks ago, and they are for sale on all the ski sims where I have shops (see below) as well as a the SL winter fayre at Blitzen.

The skis come with boots, poles and an Animation Overrider. Men's versions come in Black, Blue, Red, Orange and Zago; Girl's version (smaller boots and skis, and a different AO) come in silver, blue, green, red, black.

Oriental tunics - redux

Almost one of the first pieces of clothing I made when I started out was some oriental tunic tops. They have sold well, and I have taken pleasure in seeing one or two people even wearing them in their profile pics. But it was over a year ago that I made them, and I have been thinking for some time I could make them better with my new found skills. Finally I have!

So here they are – nine different tunic tops at 75$L each, currently only in my main store at Levant. (Men’s tunics coming soon) The hair in the pictures is “Wentz” from Truth, and for some of the pictures at least I am in Minnu’s fabulous new zero skin.

New Zagoskin Mainstore

After months of secret planning and work, I am pleased to announce that I have opened the Levant sim – home to both my new Zagoskin mainstore, and to the new Persona mainstore (and more to come later!

The store building itself is based loosely on a Greek temple. My workshop is upstairs, and please feel free to nose around when you come and visit. There are quite a few hidden extras on the sim, including a whole range of underground passages.

You come into the store up some steps that lead to the entrance rotunda. You will see some of my new furniture range (on which, more next week)

On the left is the winter clothing and ski gear room. I have made one or two new coats, including a black coat with black fur, in both open and closed versions.

Ahead is the main sales floor, currently filled with my spring and summer dresses. It is a lovely large and light space.

And finally, at the rear of the building, my “bizarre bazaar” – a collection of oriental influenced clothing, furniture and other bric-a-brac.

Cocktail dresses (revisited)

Over a year ago I first launched my cocktail sets. I have learned how to sew a lot better since then, so I have remade them to be more beautiful.

They come in three colours (black satin, red silk, and cocktail pink). 200L for each. As you can see, they come with tights and matching cardigan tops too.

If you are feeling like splashing out the triple pack allows you to mix and match the skirts and tops - only 400L.

New Release – Grey Flannel Pinafore dress

I have been away for a bit, busy in RL and busy making this Grey Flannel Pinafore dress. It has taken a while to make, and like it so much I have worn nothing else for the last month. I really hope you will like it as much as me.
This belted dress comes with a variety of different coloured tights; and blouses with collars, cuffs and buttons trimmed in coordinating colours. Each single colour set is only 250L. As you can see from the pictures it can be worn as a dress or a belted skirt.
If you are feeling like splashing out the five-packs (one with five coloured tights and trims at only 500L; one with more muted creams and greys at 500L) has scripted collars and dress buttons that allow you to mix and match the colours for fun.

Skiing goods

I’d had a winter clothing shop at the rather fantastic Wolf Mountain for a while when Peach Fizz, the owner, asked me if I would make some ski suits. I ummed and ahed a bit, and then went ahead a did it. I released the Apres Ski series of suits in October, and they have been selling like hot cakes ever since. I think I hit the right point of the year! These quilted ski suits have fur trimmed (sculptie) hoods, and come with open and closed jackets, and up and down hoods, and fur trimmed colour coordinated gloves. Colours I have made so far include: Powder Pink, Snowflake White, Gold Leaf, Ice Blue, Red Run and Black Run. I also made a Blue Run special as a Christmas 2007 present for my friends, which I have not put on sale.

The Red Run Apres Ski suit has proved, along with Powder Pink, to be the best seller amongst the range. Perhaps it because it goes so well with other things! Christine shows what the suit looks like by itself; in the picture of me I have mix’n’matched the jacket with a black skirt (the Kala) along with a great hat by the Japanese designer, Unknown Jewell at Unknown Boutique; and a silver fox muffler by fnzo Takacs at Cover Girl, both on the Shimokitazawa sim.

Speed! That’s what we want when we ski in SL. So I designed low friction all in one racing ski suits to help you go faster down those slopes. Body hugging shapes, and for girls, curve enhancing design. Frankie is wearing the men’s yellow racing ski suit, with freebie scripted boots and skis from the Weather Channel sim. I am in the girl’s orange ski suit, with lovely warm Ugh boots from Eponymous Trenchmouth at Jeepers Creepers (not free, but worth every L$ you have to pay for them).

Inspired by the very kind comments many of my clients had made about the après ski suits, I went on to make some high mountain alpine ski suits. These have belts, epaulettes, gloves, hoods, and quilted pants, and are aimed at keeping the serious skier warm on the slopes. The men’s Alpine comes in Red, Grey or Blue, and the women’s in Red, Pink and Blue. Each also has a range of different logos and words that can be worn on the back; some of the words were designed by my friend Jose Yorimasa (for men: Oedipus, Playboy, Horny, Master, Rescue etc; for women: Electra, Follow me, Playgirl, Slave, Instructor etc). As you can see in the picture of the pink Alpine jacket, you can also get branded jackets at the various ski sims where I now have shops. And if you have not tried skiing in SL, you really should! It is great fun.

Continuing to bring you what you can buy from Zagoskin stores now, introducing some more creations.

I released a load of fur trimmed coats, jackets and hats in the spring of 2007 - in pink, red, blue, grey and green. People kept asking for black! Eventually a Japanese girl, Mitsukai Kohime, asked so nicely that I decided to make one. The Mitsu Coat and hat, here modeled by the beautiful Christine Daffodil (the first time she posed for me), was released in November 2007 and has been selling very well ever since. I plan to make a black fur version in due course. If someone asks nicely.

This dress was an experiment to see whether a single line could be made into a dress. The answer is “yes”. It was not so easy to make, and only magic (and Pootle Trollop’S AV painter) hold it together and in place. Rather good for parties; when I wore it to a few clubs I managed to be the centre of attention! The original colours for the texture were designed by my good friend in SL, Rett Gentil.

In June 2007 I opened a shop in the Knighstbridge sim (still there lol). The shop was on Sloane street, which is really funny because it is near to my RL home, so I get to see a fairly accurate reproduction in SL of something I know well in RL. Anyway, to celebrate having a shop there, I designed the Sloane skirt – pink with gold belt details. It comes as both a mini-skirt and a knee-length skirt; in this picture it is twinned as an outfit with the ballerina wrap from the Camilla Dress.

This outfit twins a black astrakhan jacket with fur trim from the Black Betty set, with low slung belted pants from the Kimono set. It’s a combo I wore for a while and enjoyed, so I put them together for sale.

In about September 2007 I made the Ella range – velvet skirts in grey, black, olive green, copper red, and purple; and Ella pants in the same colours. One of my clients said on buying the grey velvet skirt “that’s the best velvet texture I have seen in SL”. I hope you will think so too.

Creations in Zagoskin Haute Couture

Nina was one of the first dresses I made, and has proved very popular. People have even asked whether they can buy it in RL as well as SL!

It comes with 2 tops – one backless and one not, and a green wool cardigan. The texture is based on some hand wood-blocked Japanese wrapping paper. This version – the Nina Summer Dress – remains available in all the Zagoskin Haute Couture shops at 300L$. Also available on Onrez and SLexchange - direct links.

In the picture I am wearing jewellery from Muse and from Earthtones; shoes from Insolence; hair from Armidi; and Skin from PXL. Oh, and the picture was taken in windlight.

Christine Daffodil is modelling the Camilla summer dress, named after my dearest Camilla Yosuke of Insolence. It has a lilac ballerina wrap, which is quite nice worn next to the skin without the dress top; it also has 2 different dress tops, both backless, one with straps and one without. Oh, and a pink prim belt too. Christine is wearing shoes from Insolence in the picture. You can buy this at the inworld locations or on Onrez and SLexchange - direct links.

The Celina skirt and top is great for those hotter days when you still want to look a bit formal. The fabric for the skirt is based on a nineteenth century Japanese Kimono that I found in the Victoria and Albert museum in London.

The Kala skirt is very popular – hundreds of people have bought it over the last six months. The miniskirt version of it was my freebie for the fashcon freebie resday celebration, and 169 fashionistas ended up getting free copies. The Kala skirt is named after Kala Bijoux of Material Squirrel – her wonderful haunted Zuzu range gave me the inspiration to start making knee length skirts. If you don’t know Material Squirrel, it is simply the best place to buy wings in SL! And if you want a surprise, have a look at the lining of the skirt once you have bought it.

The Pink Teddy jacket was my first fur trimmed jacket. It comes as a coat, and as an open coat as well. It too has proved a popular seller. I shall be forever grateful to Natalia Zelmanov for teaching me how to make fur – if you don’t know Natalia, her blog Mermaid Diaries is one of the best places to find out about how to do things in SL, and where to go too.
